The vacancy is for an independent prescribing pharmacist for 16 hours per week
We are a friendly, well established and growing semi-rural training practice based south of Bath, offering a supportive environment and with an ethos for a high standard of patient care. We are an easy commute from Bath with potential for a perfect blend of city and country life.
Main duties of the job
As an independent prescribing pharmacist you will manage a caseload in a primary care setting working individually and in a team with the other clinicians to ensure a high standard of pharmacist care and support for all registered and temporary patients.

· GMS Practice list size 11,400
· Four partners, seven salaried GPs, one ANP and one Paramedic Practitioner
· Three First Contact Physiotherapists, two PCN Paramedics, Health Connector, PCN Pharmacist and two PCN Pharmacy Technicians
· Purpose built main surgery in Beckington, modern branch surgery in Frome Health Centre
· Sessions with twelve x 15 minute appointments
· Dispensing at main site
· EMIS web across both sites
· AccuRx total triage
· Established training and teaching Practice
· Part of Mendip PCN
· Individual mentoring offered
· Salary: £56,515 pro rata.
Job description
The duties of the post are to provide Pharmacist care and support and independent prescribing to all patients. This will involve consulting with patients face-to-face and on the telephone.
The post holder’s prescribing should be according to accepted clinical practice and guidance for acute and repeat prescriptions. It should follow practice policies and procedures, e.g. use of formulary and management of repeat prescribing.
The post holder is encouraged to utilise and develop any skills for the improvement of services to patients, such as running audits and searches and pro-actively following up with individual patients based on the results.
The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of computerised clinical records at all times. Full involvement in any practice training is expected.
The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of paperwork.
Qualifications Essential criteria
· Qualified Pharmacist, with independent prescribing qualification
· Full GPhC Registration
· Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
Experience
· Experience of working in a primary care environment desirable
· Experience of continued professional development
· Experience of QOF and clinical audit
Skills Essential criteria
· Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
· Strong IT skills
· Clear, polite telephone manner
· Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
· EMIS user skills (but additional training will be provided if needed)
· Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
· Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Problem solving & analytical skills
· Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
· Experience with audit
· Experience with clinical risk management

We are an easy commute from Bath and Southeast Bristol with potential for a perfect blend of city and country life.
Main duties of the job
As a salaried GP you will manage a caseload and deal with a wide variety of health needs in a primary care setting working individually and as a team to ensure a high standard of care for all registered and temporary patients as you carry out the associated clinical and administrative duties.
Overview of the organisation

Job description
The duties of the post are to provide a full range of general medical services as contained within the National Health Services (Primary Care) Act 1997 and which will include domiciliary visits as deemed appropriate.
The post holder is expected to support the partners of The Beckington Family Practice in providing all services outlined in the GMS Core Contract and also in the aims and objectives of the Practice.
The post holder is expected to support and input into the aims of the practice in areas of clinical governance, good practice, quality outcomes framework (or its replacement), enhanced services, practice audit, referral review and any other improvement plans as determined by the practice.
The post holder’s prescribing should be according to accepted clinical practice and guidance for acute and repeat prescriptions. It should follow practice policies and procedures, e.g. use of formulary and management of repeat prescribing.
The post holder is encouraged to utilise and develop any skills for the improvement of services to patients, such as minor operations, child health surveillance, family planning training etc, if approved by the ICB. This will be subject to presentation of the appropriate certificates and update of relevant courses.
The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of computerised clinical records at all times. Full involvement in any practice training is expected.

· Qualified GP MRCGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
· Full GMC Registration
· National Performers List registration
· Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
· Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
